I have been with Banker Insulation since 2006. I was originally hired as a salesman/estimator. In 2009 I assumed the duties of the Branch Manager and Estimator in Flagstaff. Prior to Banker Insulation, I was the General Manager and Operations Manager at Staples here in Flagstaff. I worked in the fireplace industry at a local hearth shop for a number of years. In addition, I worked at CompUSA as an area manager, warehouse manager, sales and operations manager. I was previously employed in a cabinet shop and traveled all over the southwest installing our product, mostly in Denny’s restaurants. I very much enjoy working here at Banker Insulation. I love meeting with customers and listening to their needs and then trying to find the best fit possible for them for insulation and or fireplaces.
I have been married to my childhood best friend DeeDee since 1983. We are the proud parents of 6 children, 2 daughters-in-law and 2 grandchildren. We are very proud of and love our family very much. I love to read and to go for hikes and walks in the forest right behind my house. I also love to mountain bike. I am very active in my church and love to serve and help those around me in whatever way I can. I spent time in Belgium on a mission for my church for 1.5 years. There I learned to speak the local language of Flemish(Dutch) and to love the people. We have lived in Flagstaff since 1999 and absolutely love living here. The summers are fantastic and we love the snow and the 4 complete seasons. DeeDee and I grew up in Phoenix, so moving to Flagstaff was a welcome relief from the heat of the valley.
Curtis Sandall began his career at Banker Insulation 31 years ago in 1984. His first position with the company was Insulation Installer. He remembers his dad telling him that if he worked harder than the best employee there, then good things would happen. So that is what he did. He worked hard and learned whatever he could about the trade. It wasn’t long after he started with the company that he was given the opportunity to test his ability to sell insulation.
He must’ve done ok because in 1986 he was given another opportunity to open a new branch of the company in the Verde Valley. The company rented a small house with a big garage on Page Springs Rd in Cornville. Curtis began placing material orders and filled it to the rafters with insulation. He would go sell a job then change hats and go back out and install the materials. Things have changed a bit since then. In the past 30 years Curtis has witnessed many changes and has seen a lot of growth in the Verde Valley.
He loves it here. He raised his family here. His wife Alison worked at the school so she could be close to their four kids. The kids have left the nest and she is still working for the school system. They now enjoy being empty nesters but welcome the ten grandkids when they come to visit. Curtis is an avid outdoorsman. He loves to hunt and fish and of course loves being with his family. He said that the Verde Valley will always be his home and is grateful that Banker Insulation gave him that opportunity to come here many years ago.
